Rory Day – Editor of Classic Tractor Magazine:
“ an absolutely fantastic and unique event ”

What a day, the day started out a drizzly greasy mess but as the hours passed from 6am till the break of afternoon the rain cleared & the sun began to shine once the silage harvesters began to cut.

the facts of the silage harvesting is 26 single chop silage harvesters cut for 10 mins 12 seconds once the last machine started cutting. unfortunately the 27th failed to cut & pulled out early on.

what an achevement for a world record with our second ever show with 15 members in the club.

If you have any suggestions on how we could improve our show, features you would like to see ect for future shows or what we did wrong at this show,  please take the time to email us with your opinions, we would apprecieate any feedback, whether it be bad or good…….  email: info@dunmorevintage.com

Our photographer for the day was Kyle O’Donnell, huge thanks to him for making the trip up from tipp & being a master behind the lens of a camera.
Also thanks to Brian Donnellan from here in Dunmore for the vids of the tractor pulling all day.

Tractor Pulling, this year with our second, newer & bigger sleigh for the 2011 show, branded “Tuff Draggin”. lastyears sleigh the “Attitude Adjuster” although a success in its own right now has a new home with Hammond Lane. Regardless this year the tractor pulling event featured a lot more classes & machinery pulling, with an epic battle between german & english tractors in the 3.5 Tonne Class, with the pull of the day going to the Multi-power Ferguson 188. the 4.5 Tonne class brought a battle between the modern gearing versus the older vintage class gearing with modern winning out on the day, however questions still remain to certain deutz’s being weighted out to full weight equal with the Case that they would eat the modern machine off the track.
the 5.5 Tonne Class … well that was just modern stuff & the battle came down to traction & tyres
