All NEW footage of the Single Chop World Record at our show on july 31’st 2011 in HD

all new HD footage of the 26 grassmen that travelled from cork, waterford, offaly, clare, tipperary, the UK, mayo, sligo, Roscommon  and of-cource Galway not just to cut a field of silage, but to take part in a world record attempt at Dunmore Vintage Show, Dunmore, Co. Galway on July 31’st 2011

 

The 2012 show will take place on August 5th 2012, we hope to over double our 2011 record, along with a history of silage in Ireland demonstration. The day will also see a fine selection of vintage cars, bikes crafts, trade stalls & autojumble along with endless other activities and entertainment.

We will be announcing the Main Sponsor for the 2012 show in the next few weeks

 

Pre-Registration is ESSENTIAL for the compeditors in the Single Chop Forage Harvester record. PTO Guards MUST also be in place and will be inspected on the day.

Shows & events 2012

Dunmore & District Vintage Club are proud to announce that Show 2012 will see a repeat of the Single Chop World Record held in the 2011 show due to the overwhelming response we got for the event. We hope to see upwards on 100 Single Chop Harvesters cutting25 acres of grass on the day, PRE-REGISTRATION ESSENTIAL!

we also hope to host a History Of Silage demonstration with every invention from the finger bar mower right up to the precision chop working on the day

there will also be a working demonstration from our Main sponsor, yet to be announced.

aswell as all this silage cutting, there will be the usual vintage show including a display of vintage cars, tractors, crafts ect.

Other Events:
St. Patricks day 2012 – March 17th – Tractor Pulling will be held in the afternoon in Dunmore GAA pitch carpark, classes from 3.5 tonne through to 20 tonne class including tandem pulling (subject to change)

Barn Dance & Tractor Pulling – October Bank Holiday

Saturday, October 29th 2011:

Saturday Night saw the Dunmore Vintage Club take over P.J’S niteclub & fill it with hay, ass-cart’s churns, a few strawboysThe Strawboys in Halloween fancy dress costumes & a live band “Shebeen”. The night also played host to our very own Frank (Big Frank) Walsh’s 70th birthday party.

But If tractors are more your thing, Dunmore Vintage Club hosted a tractor pulling competition in the Local Gaa pitch carpark, and included various classes from 3.5 Tonne right up to a 20 Tonne class. This included a Tandem Pull with a Ford TW35, and an International 1455xl. If you were unfortunate enough to miss it, dont worry we have it all on video.

– Saturday & Sunday October 29th&30th – October Bank Holiday weekend-

Saturday October 29th: Barn Dance

The october bank holiday weekend 2011 will see Dunmore & District Vintage Club again hosting another weekend of fun, with a Barn Dance on the saturday night in PJ’s Nightclub, With Shebeen ligned up as our band for the night, a possible appearance by the strawboys & maybe another suprise or two, the craic is sure to be mighty. Dont drink too much or you’ll miss out on sundays events!!

Sunday October 30th: Tractor Pulling

Tractor Pulling will take place on the Sunday in the local gaa pitch car park. the tractor pulling will start at the 2.5 tonne class for smaller vintage tractors & working its way up to the 7.5 tonne class.
If you’re planning on participating in the tractor pulling please give Michael Kelly a call on 086 049806, as there is various rules regarding hitch height, weight categorys ect, you must make sure you comply with.

26 single chop silage  harvesters successfully cut for 10 mins 12 seconds.. Its a Record, cant wait to get the certs back from Guinness World Records ™………………..

Dunmore Vintage Show 31st July 2011

The upcoming August Bank Holiday weekend in 2011 will see the return of the Dunmore & District Vintage Club annual show for the club’s second ever show. After lastyears huge success we can only look forward in anticipation to an even bigger and more entertaining show this year. a new location closer to the town and also running side by side in with the town’s annual festival it promises to be a great weekend for all the family

As well as the show on the day, the show will also see a world record attempt for the most single chop silage harvesters cutting in one field at the same time.
